Suggest Remedy For Sore Throat And Tongue While On Roxithromycin
I am currently on a three month course of Roxithromycin to treat bronchitis and some Bronchiectasis in the lung which has just been diagnosed after 8 months of coughing and infected sputum. However I also have very large red blister sores on one side of my throat, a sore tongue (at the base on the same side) and ear ache in that ear. I am presuming it is viral (considering I am on anti-b s anyway!) and there is nothing to be done. But it has gone on for over a week now so I wanted to check. No fever though. Thank you! Glenn
Understanding your concern. As per your query sore throat and tongue while on Roxithromycin is because of infection of the throat mucosa. It seems you had a tonsillar enlargement and a soreness due to it. I would suggest you to see an ENT specialist and get your throat evaluated for the exact reason of the lump and what is causing you irritation and soreness. By the time you should avoid all kinds of spicy and hard food stuff. Take soft and cold food stuffs to give soothing effect to your throat. Warm saline gargles can can help. Also do betadine gargles once in a day. Avoid any type of sharp, hot and spicy food substances. Avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
