Hi...
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns...
As per your complain it seems that the symptoms that you are experiencing are due to
dry mouth which is a side effect of anti-seizure/anti-convulsant medicines..
Due to dry mouth there seems to be dryness, peeling and cracking of lips and
sore throat is also due to dryness causing irritation in throat..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case if the dry mouth is ruled out as the cause you can be referred to your treating physician for seizures and he can either reduce the dose of the medicine or change the drug to relieve the symptoms..
For symptomatic relief from dry mouth and
throat irritation you can chew sugar free chewing gums as it stimulates saliva flow..
You can gargle with specialized mouthwash for dry mouth conditions like
Biotene mouthwash as it will help in relieving dry mouth..
You can take "Artificial Saliva" drops as it will help in lubrication..
For mouth sores gargle with 1:1 solution of
benadryl and
milk of magnesia..
Warm saline gargles can also help..
If there is pain in sores gargle with numbing mouthwash..
Drink plenty of fluids..
For dry and cracked lips you can apply a thick coat of petroleum jelly or bees wax containing lip balm..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
