Hello, I am 27 year old male, 300 pounds 6 foot 3. I have had a constant sore throat for almost 2 weeks now. I went to the doctor 2 days ago and they told me it was laryngitis and gave me a subscription of codein and antiacid. My symptoms have since gotten worse, mild fever, very painful throat still with no relief and now coughing up mucus in a greyish brownish color with a bit of red in it. Should I be going back to the doctor?
Fever in your symptoms suggests infection in throat. Start of with systemic antibiotics, anti inflammtory and cough syrup ambroxol. Even steam inhalation might be helpful .
