Suggest Remedy For Soreness And Water Retention In Left Foot

i have sprained my ankles several times and tore many igaments as well as fractures to my foot. the left foot which is sort of okay isnt what it used to be. there is some sort of water retention of some sort which i am not sure of. what can i do to make it go away?and the ligaments feel very threadlike.
