Suggest Remedy For Soreness In Eyes Due To Spraying Of Gas Into Them

My husband was opening a gas can and when he opened it gas sprayed in both eyes. Must of been pressure built up in the can. Gas covered his face and hat on his head. He has been flushing them out for about 15 minutes. His eyes are red and only burning in the inner corner of eyes where it's mostly red. His vision is fine and not blurry. Is there anything else he should do?Are eye drops okay to use? The kind I have is "Refresh Tears"
