Suggest Remedy For Soreness In Vagina In Pregnancy

I am 24 weeks pregnant and when I move apart the lips of my vagina, the insides look kind of blueish and like they are swollen and falling out. I have been keeping an eye on it, and it hasn t got any worse, but it hasn t got any better. Is this normal for a pregnant woman?

Hi,

I can understand your concerns.

YES, bluishness and swelling of insides of vagina is NORMAL and occurs in many women in pregnancy.

If its not getting worse then there is nothing to worry about and it will resolve automatically after your delivery.

If the swelling increase get your BP and proteins checked as they are the common cause of swelling in pregnancy.

As of now nothing needs to be done other than observing it.

Regards,

Dr Biswas MD
