Suggest Remedy For Sores In Ear With Swelling

Hi, I just got my cartilage on my ear pierced last Sunday, and I went to the doctor today because I didn t know if it was infected or not. He thought it could be so he put me on anti biotics. I got it pierced with a ear piercing gun, not a needle. I am wondering if this is why my ear is sore, a little red, and a little swollen and warm? Also supposedly the earring was 14 k gold, could it just be an allergic reaction?Am supposed to leave the piercing in or take it out? Thanks!

Hi , Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum .

As per your clinical history it appears that you are having infection at pierced site in ear.

If I were your treating doctor, I would advice you

Antibiotic + steroid ointment twice daily ,
Take out earring till it heal , then apply with ointment on it &
Keep ear dry ,don’t allow water go inside while bath.
