Suggest Remedy For Sting By A Hornet Or Wasp

I got stung by a hornet or wasp or whatever - no stinger was left in, just stung - on my left upper inner arm. The swelling now has gone down below my elbow, red, elbow feels likes it bruised, throbbing in hand and now itchy. I have some Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream 0.1%. Will that help? I'm 51, 5'6" approx. 155, good health.

Thanks for the query.
Inj. Tetanus Toxoid should be given first.
Treatment of a local reaction involves cleansing, removal of the stinging apparatus if present, and application of ice packs.
Epinephrine is the treatment of choice for severe allergic reactions.
Antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) may be taken to relieve itching and burning. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) may be taken for pain relief.
Antibiotics may be needed in some cases.
