Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Discoloration In Lower Leg Post Injury

I fell up my wooden steps outside and hit my lower leg really hard and I sat there trying to recover from the pain. Later on I looked at my leg and saw the part that got hit swollen and a slightly just slightly lighter color than my regular skin color. Also it s shiny is it serious or is it fine and I just leave it to heal on it s own?

Hi
Thanks for writing in.
If there is no pain now, you most probably have nothing to worry about. It might only be a soft tissue injury which will heal on its own.

However, if you do have pain in your leg, you should see an Orthopaedic Surgeon to rule out any fracture or damaged ligaments.

It's not too serious even if you do have a minor fracture or a torn ligament. A few weeks of immobilization in the plaster cast would heal any damage.

Hope this helps! Please do let me know if you have any more questions!
