Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Numbness On Fingers

i was injured by a child pulling my fingers back for a prolonged period 5-6 minutes. The physician thinks that the swelling and the limp finger are a result of a stretched tendon. Does this sound correct. They have taken no pictures of any sort. It has been 4 weeks since the incident occurred.

Hi,

An X ray will not be helpful in this situation, as we do not expect any bone fracture unless there was sudden sharp pain and swelling immediately thereafter. As your doctor said, this might be from over stretching of tendon/muscle / ligaments, which will not be visible in X-ray. But if the symptoms are still persisting, kindly see an orthopedist for further evaluation.
