Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Pain In Knees

i am 28 years old and have had pitting edema on and off for 2 years now. It is extremely bad now and I am also having very bloody stools. My doctor put me on hydrochlorothiazide but it is not helping at all. I can't even bend my toes and I need help using the bathroom or getting up from a chair because of the swelling and pain in my knees. no one really can tell me what it is and I can't keep putting my life on hold. Any help?
