Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Redness In Thigh Caused By Insect Bite

i went to a clinic today for a possible spider bite. The bite is on my right thigh it is red swelling and turning dark in middle. I have hives spreading. I was prescribed predisone and keflex. My question is.... peridsone is 10mg 7pills first 4 days then tapering off....is this normal dose. I will take it for 3 weeks

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it seems that you have an allergic reaction to spider bite and redness, swelling and hives are all due to it.

The medications advised to you are appropriate but along with steroid [Prednisone] and antibiotic [keflex] you should also take anti-histamines or anti-allergics like Allegra or Benadryl for relief from allergy symptoms of hives and swelling..

You should also do cool compresses over the swelling..
Application of calamine lotion can further help..
