Suggest Remedy For Swelling In Upper Lip While Treating Hives

My daughter has been taking minocycline for the last 3-4 weeks. In the last few days, she started ith a swollen upper lip, which has now subsided, but she has had hives on her hands, fingers, and now thighs. Every day is a new area with hives. We have discontinued the med, and have been giving her Benadryl. Are severe
"welt like" hives a potential reaction to minocycline? She is also allergic to ceftin and septra.
I cannot think of anything else she has been in contact with which would cause this reaction.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain swollen upper lip along with hives and welts that has started occurring after taking Minocycline seems to be due to allergic reaction of the antibiotic itself..

As the medication was taken for a considerably longer time the allergic symptoms might take a bit longer to subside..

I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get her evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and if needed along with oral anti allergics he can also advise him injectable antiallergics for relief..
In case if there are also rashes application of steroid based creams over the rashes can also help..
Do cool compresses over the swelling..
