Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve just in the last two hours dropped a rather heavy object on the top of my right foot, right on the bone and it has taken skin off and is very quite swollen, feeling a non stop throbbing ache and cannot rest the top of my foot on anything. When bending toes backwards it causes some light pain. Should I be concerned or just keep it rested and hope it heals itself? Thanks in advance
Hi, from history it seems that there might be having some heavy sprain on your foot with some hematoma producing pain and swelling. But any how possibility of having fracture of meta tarsals should be ruled out. Go for x-ray foot for fracture. Apply ice pack 2-3 times a day for 2-3 days. Take ibuprofen, paracetamol combination medicine for 2-3 days. Give rest to the part. Ok and take care.
