Suggest Remedy For Swelling On Shin Post Injury

Ran into a metal bench pretty hard while going for a frisbee and hit my shin. I could see a visible dent for a couple of minutes then it swelled up big time. It s been a while and it still hurts to walk on and to touch. Is it fractured or just bruised??

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,Dear,Good Mornig.
Thanks for your query to my HCM-virtual clinic.AFter indepth study of your query,I understand your concerns. In my opinion-diagnosis -is -Boney Contusion with Hematoma. As you could walk with pain its not a fracture.Still I would advise Xray of the part and ER surgeons opinion to be on the safer side.Remedy is -Tb diclofenac , Cold- compresses,if no fracture-,REST and ELEVATION of the part for a day or 2, and you would be alright.Hope this would relieve your worrysome query.Wellcome to HCM for more queries.
