Suggest Remedy For Swollen And Itchy Lips With Hive Like Sores

For 2 weeks, my lips have been swelling, itchy, and have hive like sores. I haven't changed any soaps, lotions or anything. Sometimes they itch so bad, I feel like I'll rub them raw. I have an appointment with my dermatologist next week for my annual visit. Is there anything I can do before then? I'm under a lot of stress caring for my elderly mother

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen and itchy lips with hive like sores . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergy from cosmetic , metal or plant , allergy from food like nuts and seafood and dry environment . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to affected area , take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl twice a day , keep yourself hydrated and keep yourself in moist environment . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may take history , order certain test like blood test for igE antibodies and allergy test . Doctor may give adrenaline short , corticosteroid ointment or anti inflammatory .
