Suggest Remedy For Swollen Throat

I have what feels like my throat is swollen. I can breath fine (though my anxiety isn t helping) but feel as if I have a wad of stuff in the back of my throat. I have had this before (usually diagnosed as an upper respitory infection) but it came on pretty quick this afternoon. I have just taken Motrine and have tried gargling with warm salt water. Is there anything else I can do to help myself?

Feeling of lump in the throat could be due to chronic pharyngitis,gastroesophageal reflux disease,thyroiditis,tumors in throat and anxiety.One of the most common cause is anxiety itself(globus pharyngeus).This condition is diagnosed by excluding other causes of lump in the throat.Examination of throat by a specialist helps to rule out other conditions.The treatment of globus pharyngeus involves reassurance and psychiatry councelling.
