Suggest Remedy For Throat Infection In Pregnant Woman

my duaghter is 5 months pregnant and has had a throat infection since last thusday. she tested negative for strep however her throat continues to get worse and worse. two trips to er. they said it might be a bacterial infection or virus. nothing is working to make her feel better. she says her throat feels like it has golf balls and has chest pain aswell. could this be that she needs her tonsils reoved or tonsilitas.

Hi,
Any infection during pregnancy is not advisable.
It seems that she might be having upper respiratory tract infection giving this problem.
As she is 5 months pregnant she can take some antibiotic medicine for 3-5 days after consulting your Obst.
In first trimester any medicine intake should be avoided as soon as possible.
Ok and take care.
