Suggest Remedy For Throat Irritation Causing Severe Cough

Hi, I had a bad cold about 3 weeks ago and I still can't get rid of that itches throat that cause me to cough at night. Also for the last couple of night I had a tightness in my chest due to coughing. What can be the cause of that. I need some relief and need to get rid of this cough due to scratches, itches throat.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain throat irritation along with cough and tightness of chest can be due to a number of causes like Upper Respiratory Tract Infection, Bronchitis, Lung infection, acid reflux, allergies etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist or a Pulmonologist and get evaluated and he can also advice you investigations like throat swab culture, chest x Ray and also allergic test to rule out the exact cause of symptoms and treatment you accordingly..
You can be advised to take antibiotics like Azithromycin, anti allergics like Allegra or Levocetrizine, decongestant like Pseudoephadrine, mucolytics like Ambroxol and cough expectorant containing Guaifenesin and Dextromethorphan..
Warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier can help..
