General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The pain is likely due to minor trauma to the nerve in the area.

Nerve related pain can cause the abnormal sensation or shocking that you are experiencing.

There are medications that may help. You may want to start with over the counter meds such as ibuprofen, naproxen, voltaren.
If these are not effective then medications for nerve pain can be prescribed by your doctor eg amitriptyline, nortriptyline, tegretol, lyrica, gabapentin

I hope this helps
