Suggest Remedy For Tingling On Scalp When Diagnosed With Demographica Urticaria

I had what I thought was a bad flu followed by thrust and chest infection, I then didn t recover quickly. I was on amoxicillin. I kept feeling like my glands ion my neck were swollen. My doctor tested my for Vit D and Lupus. I came back vit D deficient. I am on 20 000 IU of D3 once every two weeks. I had been getting achy joints and muscles. Doctor attributed to vit d def. I m still breastfeeding my 1 year old and have always taken supplements. I started to notice my veins being very prominent and as if on my right wrist they would bulge and I would see little nodules that if I would press were squishy. I then looked like I had a swelling on my wrist. I panicked and went to the hospital. When I got there my whole left arm went bright red and was very hot. I was taken through and given a steroid infection antihistamine and fluids. My whole head and shoulders were burning and my arm stayed red for an hour. I started getting tingles all over my body and my scalp in my ears. It wouldn t go away. I then started getting red marks appearing on my thumb, then foot, then arm. Then they would disappear. Then I had what looked like scratch marks appear then disappear. Full blood work done and nothing found. No inflammatory markers, nothing abnormal. Aso titre done as thought throat infection could have caused post streptococcal infection. This was negative. Diagnosed demographica urticaria. I now experience tingles in my head scalp my glands constantly feel like they are swollen but I m told they are not. I feel pains in my chest. I have constant tension in my neck and I ve lost lots of weight in the last 4 weeks. I m worried that that I have some growth causing these symptoms. I feel like I have earache. They come and go. Could this be anxiety causing these symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms definitely seem due to dermographic urticaria. These symptoms generally do not require any treatment and they go by themselves. In some severe cases, some anti allergic like Cetirizine or Loratadine may be required. Rest of your complaints are most probably due to anxiety and depression (Mixed symptoms). You are advised to take some anxiolytic along with anti-depressive. If the problem still persists, you are advised to consult some psychiatrist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
