Suggest Remedy For Tinnitus While Suffering From Sinus Problems

I have had sinus problems for a while. For about the past three months now the hearing in my right ear has been muffled and I have some tinnitus in my right ear. I need to ask how long can this possibly continue before my Eustachian tube clears where I can regain all my hearing back? I have tried holding my nose and blowing and I can only hear air blowing through my left Eustachian tube. How long will this normally last? I have been taking Claritin by prescription and I have finished a methyl prednisone pack a week ago. Thanks for any help.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Since you have a known sinus problem, it is most probably the affection of the Eustachian tubes that have allowed the secretions/infection gone to the middle and inner ear.
The inflammation thus caused can cause many problems, one of them being the tinnitus.
Please continue claritine and you may need the following:
CT scan of the sinuses to know the exact problems.
A course of an antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Nasal topical decongestant drops to reduce the local edema and open up hte sinuses openings and to clear the inner opening of the Eustachian tune.
Stop blowing the nose.
Repeat oral steroids for a short duratation.
Please remember that it may take a long time for the tinnitus to settle.
