Hi. The report suggests that there is bilateral Saphenous reflux therefore she might need surgery or laser treatment for her varicose veins. But Varicosities almost never cause pain or difficulty enough to cause a person not to stand. Therefore, I suggest you should get her evaluated by an Orthopaedic Surgeon for joint pains and also rule out Neurological causes of pain in her limbs or joints before she embarks upon surgery for varicose veins uselessly. Varicose vein surgery or laser might not relieve her pain as the cause of the pain is most likely not the varicose veins. So please get other causes evaluated before getting the varicose veins treated. I am a Vascular Surgeon and do Varicose surgery and laser routinely but the symptoms in your mother might not get completely treated with Vascular surgery.
