Suggest Remedy For Weight Gain Post Delivery With History Of Nodule In The Neck
Hello I m 35 years old woman . After my third baby it is very difficult to loose weight even with diets and exercise. I thought I have a problem with my thyroid but my lab results were within normal range however after doing an ultrasound on my neck we discovered a nodule size 4×8 mm . My doctor prescribed eltroxin 50 I have been using it for a month now but still no weight loss. When shall I expect to start losing weight? ? Thanks a lot

As you have normal thyroid function tests, most likely the nodule is not active so treatment for nodule is not necessary in my opinion. Hypothyroidism can cause weight gain but you mentioned that your reports are normal. If at all you have hypothyroidism, as you are prescribed Eltroxin, it will be corrected. The following points are to be taken for weight reduction:
1) Cut down carbohydrates
2) Cut down fats
3) Take moderate amounts of proteins
4) Take high quantity of fiber rich foods
5) Supplement minerals and vitamins with nuts and seeds
6) Exercise daily for 45 min at least 5 days a week
7) Check your weight only once in a month
If the above mentioned methods don't help, you may consult an endocrinologist for further evaluation.
