Suggest Remedy For Worsening Rheumatoid Arthritis When On Arthrotec

I was put on arthrotec for rheumatoid arthritis about 3 years ago and it worked very well. I ha 3 stents put in last summer and my cardiologist took me off the arthrotec. Since then my arthritis has become much worse. The medication was ordered 1tab. bid but I only took 1 qd. Is it possible to go back on the medication now. I plan to see my GP soon and am hoping she will allow this. Or is there another medication that might work as well, other than OTC things which do nothing. Thank you for your information.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic condition. To treat this condition, I suggest to use medications such as Naproxen or Codeine which are very common to treat the symptoms. I recommend to use cold and hot therapy in case that the medications don't relieve the pain. I also suggest to exercise daily.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
