Suggest Remedy To Overcome Depression Due To Relationship Failure

Since long time a lady dr. friend was working with me at our organisation. She had a strong trust on me sharing all the personal details with me. Her in-laws & husband were giving much torture with her as she was inclined towards her parents more. In the meantime she delivered twins but afterwards also after 4 yrs situation not got improved. My family is well settled with my only son studying away from my working place. Since i was alone & this lady was close but without any physical relation, so we were loving each other & she promised to share all her love with me & decided to divorse her husband. When her husband knows she is going to divorse, he returns back seeking all kinds of apology & now this lady is also saying i am happy now so we should not continue our love relation but as a friend only. This made me under depression. Pl. advise.

Hello, thank you for writing in to HCM. My words may not sound very comforting to you but I would still have to state this fact, that from the very start this relationship carried with it, the possibility of such an end. You're both married with children. It is not so easy to leave a home with children. You both found comfort in confiding into each other. Had you been in college or single and working, things would have been different and you could easily end up together. But you've to wake up and see the reality.

There's no other way but to accept this fact. The woman in question has made her choice and you need to move on too. Try focusing more on your work, or take a vacation to your only son be with him for a few days, or any other place that would give you some peace of mind. Start seeing life with a new vision and you'll soon notice that things aren't as bad as they seem. All the best.
