hi i was shooting my rifle 10 days ago without ear protection, my one shot echoed off a wall behing me and caused my left ear to go quiet for about 5 secs then it cleared up. starting later that night i realized my ear felt like it was under pressure and needed to be popped. for the past ten days ive been trying so hard to get rid of this pressure. is there anything i need to be concerned about or should i keep waiting it out? thank you! p.s i do not hear a ringing or hissing sound in my ear
You were shooting without any ear protection and presently you are suffering from pressure in your left ear. Chewing gum is the best way to get rid of pressure in the ear, yawning and certain breathing exercises also help. Since your left ear is quiet & you are suffering since 10 days, you are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT. Do not fiddle with your ears unnecessarily.
Since noise was the reason of your symptoms, get ear drum checked to detect partial or complete perforation. Sometime, other ear problems like wax in the ear, fluid build up, sinusitis, etc., cause ear pressure to build up causing discomfort. Once the cause is detected you will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
