Suggest Remedy To Relieve Pain And Swelling Caused By Bump In Ear

hello, i have 00 size gauges. my right one has developed a bump behind the ear on the lobe towards the top. i have always had a small bump but it has caused me no pain. i thought it was nothing. but last Thursday a girl at school hit my ear really badly on accident and it became very painful. that night i could not sleep on it and it was very swollen and very painful. i have been cleaning it with H20 ocean spray (its an after piercing spray) and i put some aquifer lotion on it. the bump is still there and causing me a lot of pain when i touch it. the whole top part of my lobe where it is pierced is a huge bump now. i am going to the doctor this week but i was wondering if there is anything i could try and do to help it... thankks

Hi,

Noted the history of a bump behind the ear on the lobe towards the top, was pressed on in school accidentally by another student, swelled, painful cleaned with H2O ocean spray after piercing spray, wants t know whether something can be tried at home before going to Doctor.
This appears to be one of the following:
Cyst on ear.
Chondritis with serum accumulation.
You can try the following at home:
Take anti-inflammatory with painkiller properties like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Cold fomentation.
But surely needs an opinion of a Doctor, referral to an ENT Surgeon for confirmation of diagnosis and any further treatment as would be advised on examination and investigations.
Do not pop or so such things at home.
