Suggest Remedy To Stop Heavy Menstrual Bleeding

Last Saturday I passed out on the floor; when I came to I called 911. At the ER a battery of tests were done and it was found I had a ruptured ovarian cyst and was bleeding internally. They kept me overnight in the hospital and after stabilizing me I was sent home. Went back to doc the other day and he took more blood. Wants me on birth control pills to minimize my heavy menstrual bleeding. Isn't there another alternative? Also I had a complete thyroidectomy 1 yr. ago for Thyroid Cancer. Also, what does it mean when my glucose, urine analysis is <30 (NEG) Thanks.
