Suggest Remedy To Stop Peeling And Heal The Scar On Nose
I have brown skin and I went to a water park for about 5 hours straight. About a week after I noticed my skin on my nose starting to peel so I peeled it off. Now there is a reddish brown scar where I peeled the skin. Also about two days after my nose started to peel, my shoulders started to do the same, however I didn t peel them. How can I stop the peeling and heal the scar on my nose.
Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Most likely you sustained a mild sunburn because you were out for long hours in the sun during your visit to a water park. Though brown skin is in general more resistant to sunburn but staying out for long hours outdoors, specially in strong sun, can induce a sunburn even in brown skin. Peeling a week later is a sign of a resolving sunburn and is known as post-inflammatory desquamation. If I was the treating doctor I would suggest you to use either a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone propionate 0.05% twice daily for a week over the affected areas Or Else you may just use a bland moisturizing cream over the desquamating areas on face and shoulder. Topical steroids are prescription drugs and therefore I suggest that you may visit a dermatologist in your vicinity for the needful. Always use a broad spectrum sunscreen whenever outdoors
