Suggest Risk With Subclavian Artery Blockage

My sister has a blockage of the subclavian artery in the right arm. Blood pressure is different from one arm than the other. I think it is her right arm. How dangerous is this? She is about to have knee surgery and they are asking for reports from the doctor who put a stent in.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi, If there is already a stent in the Subclavian artery then there is nothing to worry about. When was the stent put?
If she does not have any pain or discoloration of fingers in the involved limb then nothing needs to be done and you can go ahead with the knee surgery.
Only consideration would be that if there is a stent then she would be on blood thinners like Aspirin and Clopidogrel, one of which would required to be stopped for 5 days prior to the knee surgery.
Take care.
If you need any further Vascular advice you could leave me a Direct or a Specialist query on the website.
