Suggest Safe Antiseptic Lotions That Can Be Used During Pregnancy

I am 4 months pregnant and having had big toe nail removed it needs to be cleaned, it smells a bit and doesn t look to be healing at all. I live in the Netherlands for now and the doctor said the only thing I can use is water. Is there any safe antiseptic lotions that can be used whilst pregnant?

Hi, thanks for your question.

Short answer: There are a number of antiseptic lotions that one can use on their skin while pregnant.

Chlorhexidine is a good antiseptic which can used for wound cleaning and infection control. Please wash the wound area first then apply this lotion and then rinse with water.

Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask for any further clarification if needed
