Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. Tramadol is an opioid drug and the drug is a dependence producing substance. The withdrawal method depends upon the doses you are taking and duration of abuse. Methadone can help in easing the symptoms but the drug is having more abuse potential than Tramadol so in my opinion that is not a good option for de-addiction treatment. The other option to come out of Tramadol is by reducing the doses of the drug gradually over about 8-10 weeks. Try to reduce the doses by 20% every two weeks and then stop the drug completely at about 8-10 weeks. Dose reduction in this manner will prevent any withdrawal symptoms. Apart from this pain killers like Diclofenac can help to reduce the pain. Medicines like Pregabalin or Gabapentine can help to reduce the anxiety due to withdrawal and will reduce the pain also. Please visit a doctor for evaluation and proper prescription.
