Hi, I have a pack of Ortho Evra birth control patches that expires in August 2014. I put on my first patch (ever)on on July 13, I ll be replacing it on July 20, and my last patch will go on July 27th. That week is when August begins, my patch change day is Sunday, but August 1st is Friday of the week of July 27th when I will be on my third patch. The next week after that is a patch-free week, I will take off that last patch in this pack on August 3. Is the patch I m applying on July 27th still going to be effective? Will I be protected through my patch-free week? Should I just continue my patch application and skip my patch-free week, and leave my next period until the end of my next pack instead just to be safe? My next pack expires in November 2014.
