Suggest Side Effects Of Sendinor 2 Intake Post Unprotected Sex

Hello... A friend of mine inadvertently took a sendinor 2, instead of a postinor 2, which was prescribed to her within 48hrs after having unprotected sex. Now she has been experiencing bleeding for about 3weeks. What could be the likelihood that she's pregnant or she may have been affected by the drug? Thank u.

Hallow Dear,

There is nothing to make ado about. The medicine Sendinor 2 is Postinor 2.
Sendinor 2 or Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill. It contains Levonorgestrel, which is a progestin. This medicine is supposed to be taken ideally within 24 hours but not later than 72 hours of unprotected sex for protection against pregnancy. Your friend has taken it well within the prescribed period. She should have protection.

After these pills, sometimes, there could be little bleeding after few days. May be the menses may get delayed for few days. Otherwise the side effects are minor like nausea and heaviness in the breasts.

Best wishes,

Dr. Nishikant Shrotri
