22 years TTC. Had a Positive pregnancy test in June and started bleeding July 3rd. Test after bleeding were negative. Continued trying. Got a Positive putting me at 4 weeks and 4 days. Had an ultrasound and saw no sac and lining looks thin. Whats going on?
It takes more than a week for the pregnancy test to become negative after an abortion.
However, your history confuses me on the dates of positive and negative tests. Will you please write clear history and ask me a direct question?
If 4 weeks after the abortion, the pregnancy test is positive and the uterus is not showing any sac, the possibilities are:
1. The test is false positive. Repeat the test. If possible get Beta hCG test done. 2. The pregnancy could be implanted somewhere outside the uterus; but then the uterine lining will not be thin. 3. Chorionic tissue could be present somewhere outside the uterus; may be choriocarcinoma.
Please report to your Obstetrician to have the diagnosis made and have the required treatment.
