General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history about your 16 year old daughter undergoing ear drum replacement in 2 weeks and you all as a family want to know the success rate of such surgery.
The success of such surgery depends upon many factors as follows:
Age of the patient, younger the one better are results.
Associated diseases in ear like mastoiditis.
Cholesteatoma.
Nose and sinus infection affecting the Eustachian tube.
If there is none of the above problems then the surgery results are great.
If there are associated problems then request your Doctor to take care of these before surgery to have proper prognosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
