Suggest Suitable Therapy For Anxiety

I'm having random inhalations that feel icy cold for no reason, followed by a wave of panic. I do have anxiety issues, but this is new. It has been happening as I fall asleep, jolting me awake, but, tonight it's happening with random inhalations while I'm fully awake, followed by panic and anxiety.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Anxiety and panic attacks can occur due to a number of reasons. These are causing difficulty in sleep also. Before treatment medicinal causes of anxiety should be ruled out like Anaemia, Vitamin B12 deficiency, hyperthyroidism. Get your Haemoglobin, Vitamin B12 levels and thyroid levels checked to rule out these complaints. Once all investigations come normal then consult a Psychiatrist for detailed opinion.
Medicines like SSRIs as Fluoxetine, Paroxetine etc are commonly used in anxiety. Low dose benzodiazepines like etizolam, alprazolam help in decreasing anxiety in severe panic attacks. Consult a Psychiatrist for prescription.

Apart from medicines non-medicinal treatment like relaxation exercises, progressive muscle relaxation exercise, breathing exercise help in relieving anxiety.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
