Suggest Suitable Therapy For Schizophrenia

Dear Doc,
Greetings.

Seek your consultations / helpUrgently. My peroblems - My wife was diagonised long back as ' schizophrenia - paranoid '

I am ex-defence services & while in service got lots of help from service doctors & medical personel and therefore could take her to doctors / hospital for psychiatrist treatment.

She was treated at pvt. specialist at Nashik, Cuttack Medical College-admitted twice & administered ECT, AIIMS, Delhi - outpatient, Air Force , Delhi. Problem her parents not receptive - rather hindrance to treatment.

Coming to present - have not been able to administer any treatment for last 8-10 years after retirement as she refuses to go to any doctor on this issue and now have no help to take her. can not force her physically as she shouts alleging mistreatment / beating etc. She just returned after two months from her parents place and has totally lost equilibrium - behaving like mad person as shown in hindi movies. No treatment at parents - just wanted to get rid of poblem and sent her alone in this bad state. MAIN Problem - HOW DO I GET HER TO YOUR CLINIC / HOSPITAL . Is Artemis n the ECHS empanelled hospitals .

In DESPERATE NEED of MEDICAL AID / Treatment.

Patient about 60 yrs age, staying at ARDEE CITY, Gurgaon.

Desperately seeking your aid urgently.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Dear Sir, I can understand how much stress you are facing.
Few option I can suggest.
You just go to some psychiatrist nearby with her old treatment records and may psychiatrist will help you to prescribe medicines if you want to take responsibility legally.
Another option home visit of a psychiatrist.
And if you are in trouble that she might harm herself or others , you can ask to police to take her to hospital for treatment forcefully according to Indian law, mental health act.
And if you can get medicines , it can be given in food and water as some preparation of halopridol, risperidone and olanzapine available to give patient in food which are tasteless and colorless.
I hope , I have answered your confusion.
thanks & regards.
