Suggest Surgical Treatment For Eustachian Tube Issues

I want to know if there is a way to surgical fix Eustachian tube issues. I been told I need hearing aid for hearing loss. BUT I don t believe that is the answer. I have popping or click sound every time I swallow, I hear fine if I pop my ears but it don t last - and I had tonsils the size of half golf ball and had then taken out when 40 cause they were so large they were on my tongue and cause swallowing problems. So I figured they did not help having the weight of them by my Eustachian tube area and a have a dipped in nose I think from wearing glasses since age 5. But I know my nose not right and I bought the hearing aid and al it does is make louder of what I do hear. I know I need something to equal the pressure in my head and I will hear fine. I just need some doctor that will do this for me. I am 47 now and I want to fix the problem not put a bandaid on it.

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome to HealthcareMagic

After going through your history, I strongly feel you are suffering from Eustachian tube dysfunction. Surgically, it is difficult to fix the Eustachian tube problems. Best is to try steroid nasal spray, for a couple of months. Secondly, you have not mentioned the reason behind wearing a hearing aid (whether there is a conductive or sensori neural hearing loss; if so, the level of hearing loss).

Regards
