Diabetologist Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar's  Response
Hello,

Hypoglycemia is considered to be present when blood glucose level goes below 60 to 70 mg / 100 ml. Usually when blood glucose level goes down below 60 mg a person may start feeling uneasy. May get mild tremors, sweating over forehead, slight blurring of vision, hungry feeling, inability to concentrate and tired feeling.

If blood glucose goes further low, then these symptoms become intense and person may become unconscious. (Hypoglycemia is most likely to occur when one has remained without ant food intake for a very long time (over 10 to 12 hours). But this usually does not happen in normal individuals as our internal hormones correct the situation by breaking down glycogen to glucose to increase blood glucose.

Hope I have answered your query. I will be happy to help if you have further queries.

Thanks,
Dr. Prabhakar Laxman Jathar
