Suggest The Dosage Of Prilosec For The Treatment Of Acid Reflux

What is the maximum daily dose I can take of over the counter Prilosec for silent acid reflux. I am taking 40 mg (two pills daily). But I don t think it is strong enough as my symptoms don t seem to be going away. I stopped drinking alcohol and changed my diet. The reflux causes me to cough and expel mucus all the time and prevents me from getting a good nights sleep. Anyway I wanted to know if I can increase the dosage safely to say 80 mg (4 pills daily). Please advise. Ed. My email is YYYY@YYYY .

Hello,

If you have no relief from Prilosec then better is try Lansoprazole once daily. It is effective than Prilosec, especially in acid reflux disease.

So substitute it with Lansoprazole and you will definitely relieve from acidity. There is nothing to worry.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
