Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am on 20 mg of lisinopril to reduce my BP to less than 130 over 20. I am presently running 140-50 over 90. I have the large loop aorta over the top of the heart that is in jeapardy. I am also on 75 mg of metoprolol assigned with it. Should I increase the the lisinopril by 10 mg??
The dose of lisinopril varies according to the need (to achieve target BP). You are right, your BP is a bit higher then needed. You can increase the dose up to 40 mg to achieve the target BP. However, do ask your doctor about it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
