I am suffering from what i felt was depression and have been since i was a sophomore in high school, i am now 20 and finally went to the doctor and got help, the doctor Citalopram Hydrobromide and took the medication at the prescribed amount for 2 months and saw no difference in my mood, if not worse, also made me more tired than i already was and just didn't feel good. So, I stopped taking the medication about a month ago. Recently i took an 20mg Adderall, for the first time, to study for a test. i knew Adderall was used to help ADHD and ADD patients focus and, but shortly after i took it i had felt something i had not felt in as long as i can remember, i felt good. Not good like a "high", which i had anticipated since i had never taken it before or any stimulant, it was a good like a normal. It finally cleared my head (before taking it felt like my mind always wondered or cloudy), i could finally have an actual conversation with my mom and dad (before i was very irritable all the time, could not hold or even add value to a conversation), and did not feel worthless anymore (like i was seeing the world in a whole new light). After realizing the effects that it had on my outlook and mood i did some research on Adderall and ADD/ADHD. What i found when reading about ADHD there were some symptoms that made me wonder if i had ADHD/ADD (listening skills/remembering conversations, cloudy mind, hyperfocus, procrastination, organizational skills, poor-self control, addictive tendencies[chew], bored easily, and all of the emotional symptoms) and depression or if i do have ADHD/ADD, that is what caused my doctor to diagnose me with depression? I am asking you because i wanted to talked to my new doctor about being prescribed Adderall?
Thank you for your time, if you need any other information please let me know.
