Suggest Treat For Menstrual Irregularity?

Hello Dr, I have been having irregualr periods and my last period was on 3rd of Sep 2012. From few days ie., about 15 - 20 days i have been having early pregnancy symptoms, but till day all my home urine tests are negative. Symptoms are i have nausea, heartburn, tender breasts, lower abdomen pain, white discharge.... Please help and guide. Thanks Nazia

Hi,

Just by symptoms we cannot come to a conclusion regarding the pregnancy as this type of symptoms like nausea, heartburn, breast tenderness, vomiting, abdominal cramps, white discharge, etc. can be seen during the premenstrual period also due to the fluctuation in the reproductive hormone levels. So, if you miss the expected date of periods as your urine pregnancy test kits are giving negative results, to get the accurate result, please go for a blood test for pregnancy.

If the serum beta HCG levels in the blood test shows less than 5 mIU/ ml it excludes the possibility of pregnancy, if it shows between 5 to 25 mIU/ml, it indicates the possibility of pregnancy which needs for the confirmation. If the levels are more than 25 mIU/mL, it confirms the possibility of pregnancy.
