Suggest Treatment After Intake Of High Doses Of Amoxicillin By Children

my 2 yearold nephew has taken is amoxicillin, his mom was giving his sister her medication and he took the bottle while her back was turned. it looks as though he may have taken maybe 3 - 4 doses, there was some spilled on the floor. not sure how much he got of the missing amt. is there any immediate problems with this, should she seek medical attention

for 2 year old the dose if it is 3-4 of amoxicillin 500 mg capsule is high but will not be a fatal dose. but the child must be taken to the ER and monitored of his vitals.

if stable then no need to worry about.

can give him activated charcoal to reduce the absorption of the antibiotic from the gut.
