Suggest Treatment For 3rd Degree Tear After Child Birth
I had a baby 10 weeks ago and suffered a 3rd degree tear. Everything is healed up on the outside and it is no longer painful when sitting or laying down. However when I am standing, particularly in one place for a while as opposed to walking around, it is very uncomfortable. It's a lot of pressure, like a tarp that is full of water. It feels like at any moment it could give way. Obviously I know this will not happen, but it's the best way to describe it. Some days it feels like it's getting worse rather than better. Is this normal?
Having a perineal tear during delivery can be very debilitating especially in the initial weeks after child birth. It improves over time in most women.
You need to get an endo-anal ultrasound to know about the exact extent of the defect.
You need to see a physiotherapist and start pelvic floor exercises under guidance to improve the perineal muscle tone and will help regain better control for you.
It takes quite some time to recover and in a few cases the recovery is not complete when repeat surgery may be required.
Hope this helps. Regards.
