Suggest Treatment For COAD Leading To Shortness Of Breath

Good afternoon doctor.I was a heavy smoker and developed c.o.a.d. I have recurring infection in lungs, use antibiotics and it goes away for a short period but back again soon.Plenty of phlegm on chest, shortness of breath and cannot pick up or carry anything weighty.

Hi,

Welcome to Health Care Magic,

I am Dr.Naveed Ullah khan,

I have read your question in detail and will try to help you in the best way possible.

The best way to decrease the symptoms and improve the quality of life is to stop smoking. That is the most important thing and one of the 2 things that prolongs survival in this case. The othwr thing is to regularly take oxygen through a mask daily at home.
Infections can be treated with antibiotics and its frequency will also decrease if smoking is stopped.

I hope this answered all your queries, if you have more queries,I will be happy to answer.

Wish you the best of health.

Regards.

Dr.Naveed Ullah Khan.
