Suggest Treatment For COPD

My husband died a year ago and my asthma/COPD has gotten worse. I went from walking 2 miles a day to barely walking across the street. Now with my husbands death getting a dr is almost impossible.I Take Albuteral,advairdiskus500/50, furosemide20mg,gabepentin, omeprazole, plavix, requip, tramadol 50mg, vitamin d3,1,00units 2x a day, wellbutrin xl 300 1 a day. Hydracodone 2 a day. But my fibromyalgia is under control but my COPD is not.I thought if I went back on theophylin it might help.

Hello,

Cannot say in your particular case without being there and stopping cigarettes is the most important factor to help COPD.

Otherwise, the lungs get slowly worse with age and there isn't another feature that offers even small amounts of repair. Otherwise, it is getting the most out of the lung that is left:

lowering inflammation with inhaled steroids if that is present. Opening up airways if there is constriction.

Mostly these do little in advanced COPD. Then, improving blood flow with sildenafil is likely to double the walking distance the moment it is begun.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
