Hi, I have well managed COPD, however the past couple of weeks, I have been having discomfort across my back along the bra line when doing anything physical. Oxygen level could be anywere from 80 to 94 % saturation. Sometimes my pulse also goes up when this is happening, last week stayed over 110 bpm for extended periods even when resting. also my blood pressure is usually 120/80, but occasionally will rise to 133/90. Does this sound like something related to my breathing issues or possibly heart?
Yes, lung transplant is an option for end stage COPD. But you can not donate your lung because you can not live on one lung. Donors for lung transplant are brain dead patients. There is registry maintained for lung transplant. So enroll his name in this registry to avoid waiting period.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
General Surgeon
